THE MALE FACE

The Male Face

The aesthetics of the male face are traditionally distinct from those of the female face. Based on the golden facial ratio, the ideal masculine features are defined by the following characteristics:

  • A pronounced brow ridge with thick, straight, and low-set eyebrows.
  • A “hunter eye” shape with minimal upper eyelid exposure and a positive canthal tilt.
  • A raised, straight nasal radix with a 90-degree nasophiltrum angle.
  • Prominent, low-set cheekbones with defined subzygomatic hollows and a compact midface structure.
  • A strong, well-defined, broad jawline that aligns with the outer width of the cheekbones (Bizygomatic to Bigonial ratio of 1:1).
  • A tall ramus with strong jaw projection and a facial convexity angle between 165-175 degrees.
  • A square, well-defined chin aligned with the width of the mouth corners.
  • Square, wide lips with an equal top-to-bottom lip ratio (1:1 ratio).

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment duration may vary based on the number of areas addressed but typically lasts up to 45 minutes.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment involves injections into the skin, which may cause some discomfort. However, a topical local anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to minimise any pain. The procedure is also relatively quick.

Are there any potential side effects?

As with any injectable treatment, there may be some risk of swelling, bruising, or soreness at the injection sites. Dermal filler injections may also result in a sensation of ‘lumpiness’ where the product has been placed, though this is typically felt rather than visible. In cases of unnatural lumpiness or nodules, these can be reversed if necessary. While rare, there are small but significant risks of infection or vascular occlusion (vessel blockage); however, these complications can be promptly detected and treated.

How long do the results typically last?

The duration of results can vary from person to person, primarily influenced by factors such as lifestyle and genetics. However, in most cases, results typically last for approximately a year.

What should I do if I have concerns about my treatment?

We strive to deliver the best results tailored to your skin type and needs. If you feel your treatment results do not meet your expectations, please contact us. In cases where the results are not optimal, we may offer a touch-up after 2 weeks.

If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, the dermal fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme injection called hyaluronidase.
